How long does it take?

For each cosmetic tattooing procedure, we recommend leaving 2hrs maximum. Not all of this will be tattooing. You will sit with topical numbing cream for the first 30min before moving into the room to confirm shape and colour with the technician which can take up to 40min to get it just right. After the shape is drawn on, you get the chance to give feedback before starting the procedure. A maximum of 2 hrs for each procedure is advised, if you are getting more than 1 procedure done at a time we recommend adding an extra hour onto the time bracket.

How long does it last?

Cosmetic Tattooing can last several years depending on your skin type, sun exposure and lifestyle. This style of tattooing is designed to fade gradually to give us the opportunity to alter and change our appearance with age. As the tattoo fades it will become softer and less visible in the skin until it completely dissolves.

Longevity of pigment varies depending on how well your skin holds the pigment. We recommend a touch up every 12-18 months to keep your tattoo looking fresh. if you choose not to have a yearly boost, your enhancement will fade over a period of 2-3 years. Lips and eyeliner can last a little longer, up to 5 years in the skin.

How many treatments do I need?

All cosmetic tattooing treatments require a minimum of 2 procedures and both sessions are included in the price. This is to ensure you get the longevity out of your tattoo over the 12-18 month period before you yearly touch up.

Does it hurt?

During any cosmetic tattooing procedure we use two different types of numbing cream to help easy any uncomfortable sensation. Everyone’s pain threshold is different and it does vary person to person, but most people experience very minimal pain.

Do I still have to wax my eyebrows?

Yes. During your semi-permanent makeup procedure, we remove the hair around the eyebrow to ensure clean lines, however you will still have to remove the hair via plucking or waxing when it grows back. If, however you get carried away and over pluck, your new tattoo will provide a beautifully crafted template so you won’t be able to notice any missing hairs.

Can I go to work the next day?

Absolutely, most women show little signs of swelling or redness after treatment. The initial colour will be quite dark and will soften during the first week of healing. Lip and eyeliner clients can experience minor swelling for the first 2 days. Mature aged clients may experience more swelling and soreness that can last up to 6 days.

If you are worried about work we suggest taking 2 days off after your lip or eyeliner treatments. Eyebrow treatments tend not to swell at all and you can go back to work straight away.

What should I expect after the treatment?

Straight after treatment the colour will look darker than you chosen shade. You will find that the colour will fade by up to 50% in the first 7 days. After 5-10 days exfoliation will take place and your new tattoo will look slightly cloudy and grey. This is when the top layers of skin will start to exfoliate off leaving your tattoo looking clearer and more settled. Aftercare cream should be applied for the first 7-10 days to assist healing process.

Your technician will clearly explain all aftercare advice to you after your treatment and give you barrier cream and information to take home with you.

How are the colours selected?

During your consultation, your technician will discuss the best suited colours to your skin tone and will show you our colour options depending on your preferences. Initially we use a lighter shade for your first session as the colour will fade by 50% after you first appointment and the lighter colour will get you accustomed to the healing process. In you second session we will use a darker shade to give you different colour variations in your brow and a more natural effect.
