Hi, I’m Beck, it’s nice to meet you.
Thank you for taking the time to read how The Cosmetic Tattoo Company came about, and where my journey started.
I guess I should start from the beginning…
I have been doing makeup since my mum bought me my first makeup book by Kevyn Aucoin when I was 11 years old.
I studied those pictures like it was science and my brave sister even let me practice on her.
I have always loved make-overs, I used to watch them on tv all the time as a kid and I love how much it could change someone’s confidence.
Most of my life I have had low confidence, and the idea that you can instantly turn into a more beautiful, confident, sexy version of yourself really appealed to me.
After school I studied a Diploma of Makeup, and after working for a few big retail companies it soon dawned on me that in order for makeup to look beautiful, you first had to have your skin under control and feel confident from the inside out.
So I started studying a Diploma of Beauty Therapy, and a Certificate III of Hairdressing.
Both these qualifications have given me so much insight into skin behavior, ingredient knowledge and amazing colour theory, which has allowed me to continually grow as an artist.
I bet you are wondering when I became a tattooist?
Well, that was next.
After doing 6 years worth of special event/wedding makeup and a lot of eyebrow tinting, I wanted my makeovers to become permanent.
I wanted to give my clients makeup that they could wear home and show off every day of the year.
This is when I decided to study cosmetic tattooing and this is where I really fell in love with my work.
Helping women regain confidence and independence in themselves is really why I do what I do.
I love being able to give them back their eyebrows that have been over plucked or have thinned over time, or their eyeliner that they just can’t seem to draw on anymore because their glasses are in the way.
Helping women feel like themselves again really is the best part of a make-over, and you can see it in the way they walk out of the treatment.
